Professor James Goff is a geologist who has settled nearby. On the first morning of the Landscape Painting Course, James gives a guided tour of the area and explains the many layers and uses of this landscape through the ages.
Veronica Gibson is a landscape painter from Brecon. She joins us on the summer landscape course for her fourth season in September.

Niel Bally
Niel moved back to Wales in 1998 after spending 25 years in London and abroad painting and teaching. He has exhibited widely and received traditional training, beginning with the Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing in Oxford and then the West Surrey College of Art and Design. Since the 1980s, he has run courses and taught in several art schools and adult education colleges, including Wimbledon School of Art, Canterbury, Putney, Rhodes University in South Africa and Camden Institute in London.
Underpinning Niel’s teaching is a significant knowledge of painting and drawing methods, together with a wide understanding of modern and traditional approaches to representational and abstract art.
In 2005, Niel was elected to the Welsh Group.
