Over the years Niel Bally has exhibited in various open and selected shows including  the RA Summers Exhibitions, Royal Water Colour Society, Royal West of England Academy, Royal Portrait Society, The Hunting Prize Awards,  National Eisteddfod for Wales, Camden Arts Centre and many commercial art galleries in London,UK and abroad. He has also held a number of one-man shows in London and Wales. In 2003 there was  a large exhibition of his work in the  Brecknock Museum.  In 1998 and 1999  he was  a regional prize winner  at  the annual Hunting Art Prize Awards held at the Royal College of Art in London.

In 1998 Niel Bally moved from London  to  the Black Mountains in Wales  to set up a studio and house near Talagrth. In the Mid 1980s he travelled in the USA and  lived in Mexico for a year. From 1992 – 1996 he lived and worked in South Africa on the East and West Capes.
