 Portrait Painting Course 1

The three day course combines painting and drawing. The class will have a maximum of 8 people. There will two models. One shared between four people which means everyone is able  to study the subject from a distance of at least 5ft. The models will swap places so you won’t end up painting/drawing from one person. Tuition is on an individual basis and the course is suitable for both beginners to the more advanced. The first day will concentrate on drawing with poses between 10 minutes and one hour. Day 2 will provide the opportunity to work for 5 hours from the subject and then on Day 3  a further five hours from the other sitter.

Materials. We have large sheets of paper, drawing materials and various paints and canvases in stock. You can use oil and gouache paints for £8 a day. Otherwise bring materials of your choice. The studio is fully equipped with  8 studio easels, work stations and drawing boards and clips

Booking& Fees.   To reserve a place requires a deposit 0f  £75 .  Then the final payment is due one on the 12th  September one month before the course starting.

Level. All levels but a maximum of 2 beginners.

Fees:

Fees have increased from last year by an average of 8% to help cover inflation and cost of living . Last year we did not increase the fees from the year before.We made allowances for covid recovery

  Our lunches are outsourced  to an award winning chef called  Gavin Kellett, who provides us with very wholesome  and delicious vegetarian soups which are different from anybody-else’s,  but also different on each day. Then there is locally baked bread, baked potatoes, plus salads and fruit. If you have dietary requirements please let us know.The table is laid out pleasantly in our spacious dinning room. Lunch  provides a very welcomed break. It is a  friendly and relaxing time away from the working studio.
